Minister for Youth and Sports

GoGetDem executives Raphael Botsyo Nkegbe and Maclean Atsu Dzidzienyo had the privilege of sitting down with the new Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah, to discuss the teams mission, vision and the importance of sports to inspire young athletes and change perceptions of those living with a disability.

Raphael and Maclean were very pleased with the discussions today. They were able to present the teams upcoming programs and events for 2017 as they are looking for support from the Ministry to ensure the athletes are given every opportunity possible to succeed on the world stage and represent Ghana.

Both the Bloomsday 2017 and Desert Challenge Games are approaching quickly, taking place this May in the USA. It is races like these that are vital to the team as they will be the qualifiers and ultimately determine if up and coming athletes like Maclean can participate in international events such as the Commonwealth Games to be held in Australia in April of 2018.

Our sincerest thanks to Mr. Asiamah for taking the time to speak with us today, it was a very encouraging meeting and gives us so much hope for the future of disabled sports in Ghana.
